Once Brown graduated from Whitgift School, he continued his education at the University of Bristol, where he majored in law and German. It was at Bristol, where he was first introduced to hypnosis at a Martin S Taylor hypnotist show. Not long after, Brown started working as a close-up magician at bars and restaurants and in 1992 proceeded to perform his first stage show at the University of Bristol.

Brown was signed by a production company, and in 2000, his breakthrough show “Mind Control” aired on national television. According to a BBC interview with Lenny Harper, Detective Chief Officer for the States of Jersey Police, the whole thing was a hoax.
